Jiro Konami, A Japanese photographer, who has worked with brands such as Nike and Supreme, unveils his solo exhibition "NAMEDARUMA" in New York City, running from March 17th to April 17th, 2022.
Held by CCProjects, "NAMEDARUMA", is centered around Konami's photographs of an unseen Japanese rap group, who are very popular in Japan. Jiro traveled two hours outside of Tokyo, to Kumagaya City, where this Japanese rap group, who are known as Namedaruma, grew up. Known as "tough" and "industrial" from the 90s-2000s, they started to make music together about their experiences in this city. Konami ventured to their houses and through his photos, and offers a more personal view of this group.
NAMEDARUMA, will be running from March 17th- April 17th 2022 in New York City.
